Black Wound Badge.
An early, so-called 1st pattern badge, which still shows the german helmet used in World War I, but with a swastika.
With still nice finish, with minor wear.
The setup is the characteristic so-called "block hinge" and the hook resembling a question mark ("question mark catch").
The badge and the setup are made of tombak..
This type was introduced in May 1939 and was awarded to German soldiers who fought and were wounded in the Spanish Civil War. It was still awarded to soldiers wounded in the Polish and Western campaigns until approximately mid-1940, but after that only the 1939 version was used.
