Africa Medal (Medaille für den italienisch-deutschen Feldzug in Afrika)
A medal in good condition, on its original ribbon!
The medal was made by the company Lorioli, Milano, and the designer was the Italian Domenico de Marchis.
Based on the characteristics of the Fileni arch, the Savoy knot below it, and the inscriptions "De Marchis" and "Lorioli Milano" on the front, the medal is a type2 version that covered most of the production period.
The Deutsch Italienische Erinnerungsmedaille an den Afrika Feldzug was a German-Italian decoration awarded to those fighting in the German-Italian Africa campaign. Interestingly, the Italian troops were not allowed to wear the medal, but only the ribbon.
