Panzer Badge in Bronze (Solid Zinc Construction)
A solid zinc example of the Panzer Assault Badge in Bronze, showing very good color retention with minor wear on the raised areas.
Based on its distinctive features, this piece is attributed to Steinhauer & Lück.
Notable identifiers include the shape of the eagle’s head and the hardware configuration.
On the reverse, directly beneath the gun barrel, one can observe a characteristic tooling flaw—a small crimp or ripple typical of S&L wartime production.
An excellent example of the less frequently encountered bronze grade Panzer Assault Badge!
The silver grade was awarded to armored troops (e.g., tank crews), while the bronze grade was intended for non-tank personnel engaged in armored combat operations—such as infantry, Panzergrenadier, recon elements, or artillery units attached to Panzer formations.
