The SA Sportabzeichen was founded in 1933 and could be earned in three grades (bronze, silver, gold).
Successful participation in various performance tests and annual repetition were among the conditions. Until 1935, only members of the SA could earn the badge. Later, this was expanded.
The badge was worn on the left jacket pocket, in mini form on civilian clothes, or as a fabric patch on a sweatshirt.
The badge was basically made in three types:
Between 1934-35, type 1 (with the inscription "Eigentum d. Chefs d. Ausbildungswesens" on the back and with donation number)
Between 1935-38 type 2 (on the back side with the inscription "Eigentum d. SA. Sportabzeichen Hauptstelle" and donation number, then without
