Kyffhäuser War Memorial Medal, established by the Kyffhäuser Association in 1921. The medal was awarded for service on the front line and at home, as well as for loyal service by reservists. This post-World War I medal had to be purchased by veterans upon presentation of a certificate of merit.
The name of the German sculptor Hermann Kurt Hosaeus, who designed the medal, is engraved on the underside of the badge.
