The Horthy-era Levente Movement was established in Hungary in 1921 as a youth paramilitary organization. Its purpose was the patriotic, physical, and military training of boys in line with contemporary national and revisionist ideals. The movement provided its members with military-style instruction, sports training, and disciplinary education. Membership applied to boys aged 12 to 21 and served as part of national defense preparation. The organization was dissolved by the Allied authorities in 1945 at the end of the Second World War.
