Canister paint approximately 80% intact. Closure functional; lid opens and closes smoothly. Opening strap intact.
Interior intact, no holes. Contains the aluminum insert characteristic of this type (1936–1939).
Inside top stamped “VM1938”. Under the lid, spare lenses with intact retaining spring.
Handwritten, partially legible text on the bottom:
“Pz. Schütze Kar???? II. Kompanie Erlangen”
Canister contains an M30 gas mask with FE41 filter.
Interior bears early-style Waffenamt stamp marked “A2B”.
The retaining spring is also present in the set.
